This letter...pretty telling. Broome is trying to start saving face with the SG people and her election base, in general. Why would she, racist or not, want her larger tax-base to sneak into SG parameters?
I would distance myself from Gravy as much as possible. She does that? HUGE approval rating; at least, the possibility of a favorable rating becomes certain. She can even it out a little by still putting impossible restrictions on the police force and play up the COA bit so that she does not alienate most blacks and become an Aunt Tom.
You stand nothing to gain by aligning with Gravy. He will remain unhappy for the rest of his life. His unhappiness garners readers -- by the way, Holy Passive Tense, Batman! This is why journalists should not be "everyone" who plays publicly disgruntled. Go rent a ghostwriter, Gravy!

She apparently thought she was being clever by intentionally leaving it ambiguous and open to interpretation.
However, the dead giveaway is that Gravy is still on the transition team and still clearly has her ear.

The problem? Too many people were focused on the presidential race. I did NOT want Hillary to win (and di not vote for her), but if I could have it my way, I would have lived with her as long as SWB and her Belaire/Glenn Oaks/Tara buddies would not have been voted in.
It's not about race, either. I liked KIP. It's about the candidate -- what does he/she think about race and how we should deal with it? By the way, thanks Mitch...SWB is like a lip ulcer compared to the dick cancer you have become/have always been.

This is the correct answer. She knew that Gary, Denise Marcelle, Silky Slim, Ted James, etc. were white haters when she appointed them to her advisory groups. Her so-called "police reform" plans consist of forcing cadets to participate in race sensitivity training and trying to find a way to get rid of sitting Police Chief Carl Dabadie.
