If these things bother you, thats your problem, not theirs IMO. Sometimes you have to learn to deal with different cultures that are not exactly like yours.

Great post Tuscaloosa, we don't agree on much but we do on everything you said.

I'd like to add that had myself, or some other self proclaimed conservative said the exact same thing we would have indeed been labeled racist by some around here.

So all the great family men are in jail instead of properly acting as head of household because of the War on Drugs?

All of that has to do with a culture that has developed - particularly in the south
Not limited to the South. See L.A., Chicago, NYC, Detroit...etc.

One of the things I see as a cultural pattern/problem across parts of the white, black, and Latino subcultures is one of entitlement and of a shocking disregard for the well-being of others around them. Manifests in selfishness, unwillingness to be held accountable by anyone, a sort of chip on the shoulder combative attitude that can be seen when someone doesn't feel they are getting their "needs" met, a greatly exaggerated belief that their personal motives, attitudes and actions are right, good, pure - and anyone who thinks otherwise or disagrees is wrong, bad, the enemy and unworthy of the slightest courtesy; even including a ridiculously toxic level of political partisanship.
Bumper stickers:
I'm ok, you're ok.
I don't get mad, I get even.
You deserve a break today.
Have it your way.
Any of these sound familiar?
They can be telling indicators of a societal loss of respect, civility, and community - accompanied by a strong strain of undue self-aggrandizement.

72% of black children being born to single parents is the biggest issue here IMO.

You just don't see it very often.
It's bc what you just posted.

That's the biggest problem in the black community.
Family unit is damn near non existent.

Education is a major problem! Not being able to read or write. When kids get home and parents can't help with home work they go straight outside to the street.

We need to come up with a way to end entitlement programs. Something like if your under 45 you only get Medicaid for 3-4 more years. In the meantime we will subsidize you to go to a trade school and learn how to weld, mechanics, plant work or some kind of trade to have income when your gov't income ends in 3-4 years. After that your own your own.

People not being able to read or write is a HUGE problem and we need to break the cycle in those culture's!

Someone living in the projects saying my grandmother and my mom and me are all raised here is a problem! It's transitional housing not GENERATIONAL!

I called you out because it's a trash thing to do.

So if you saw a white single mom eating, would you go up and tell her how she is destroying your culture since the family unit is so important?

Are you also speaking of the same Tribe leaders that sold their own people to the British for money?

It's good to see a black man breaking the cycle and stereotype of not being a husband and dad.
It's a good thing.
Quit trying so hard to be angry.

WTF? Why do you think this is an okay thing to do? That'd be like me going up to you and saying "Hey, I noticed you didn't call me a 'n-word' and threaten to hang me from a tree. My family and I just wanted to come thank you in person."

not all cultures are equal

if an inferior culture is causing issues, then there is nothing wrong with pointing this out. celebrating or defending shite culture is terrible. ignoring or "dealing with it" is wrong, too, because it doesn't force assimilation into the superior culture and reflects an indirect defense of the inferior culture

this applies from the ghetto to our trailer parks to fundamentalist muslim areas across the globe
