Combination of both. I never sat in with any clients so IDK what he was telling them but I think he signed up a WHOLE bunch of clients after the flood (after scamming multiple families in LaPlace after the tornado a few months prior), tried to hire like a madman to do at least some work, then once houses were gutted, the scamming really started (from what I learned after). He was attempting to max out all the insurance policies so when insurance companies called bullshite, he tried to force the homeowners to pay while the claim was challenged.
From what I could tell after everything came to light, I don't think he ever once completed a project. He basically faked the whole company and used his LLC from when he was selling like chimineas to say his "construction" business has been ongoing for nearly 15 years and would just change the name to whatever his next venture was. He also claimed to have offices all over the south with contractors licenses from Texas to Florida....he didn't, just in Louisiana in which he had to lie to even get that one.

I watched much of it and it was him talking about his childhood, getting heavy into drugs and mayhem with the theme of him always getting out of serious consequences from his lawbreaking, which is ironic.

I wouldn't be sharing links to his website, how to report his vids, and his current location if I were him. I'm just another pissed off BR resident who has kept tabs on him hoping to one day see him fully brought to justice one way or another. I'm a reader, not a forum poster... I can’t fathom living through 1 week or maybe month of what he talks about re: his past and not getting a fricking clue to change things. And I’ve had some pretty good/bad runs of things crazy life wise, but it was always temporary in my mind.
He presents his past for some reason I can’t determine. Mea culpa? Kinda but he seems equal parts braggy as in apology, although not huge on either.
He’s kinda bragging but not obnoxiously so.
He acknowledges his constant frick ups but doesn’t seem as regretful as one would expect.
So not sure what the point is. I just feel bad for his family, who I knew back then and were/are great, genuine people. I miss them.

The sad thing is, his wife is just as culpable in all his cons. How she went unscathed in all of his last legal issues I’ll never know.

(Probably old news) Word on the street was that she got really "close" with the lead detective in Ascension as she was "being cooperative" while answering questions for months. That helped her. He was eventually removed from the case.
In Dec 2019 she left Matt. Leased a house, cried a sob story to a landlord who had sympathy on her and allowed her to skip the deposit and slow pay it and the rent over time. She never paid the deposit, covid happened 2020, stopped paying rent and since no evictions allowed she refused to pay or leave.
Just as the eviction moratorium was about to be lifted, she got back with Matt and he moved her out of the rental house to head to Florida. She defaulted on over $10K in rent.
