Nope. We already know what they're going to do because they showed us when Obama was in office. They're going to make it impossible to find or prohibitively expensive to buy ammo.

Nothing to worry about. The shooter wasn't Muslim, so this will be forgotten quickly.

Oh please. A Muslim ran over people in New York City a few days ago and it’s like it never happened. People are just complacent with terrorism now. Doesn’t matter who commits it.

The guys that chased him were in the black dodge on the right side of the picture, didn't talk to them, deputies kept them pretty close once a bunch of them showed up. Got the phone call we didn't want to get at about 1am, my aunts sister that I've known my whole life and was my secretary for 21+ years and her husband who was a foreman for me for 25 years were both killed, they both had retired in the 2 years. Hard to function right now, stomach is just tied in knots, 10 great people we knew got up on a Sunday morning and went to church only to be taken from this world by a sorry piece of shite who will forever burn in hell. Continued prayers are appreciated, and if praying offends you take your debate to another thread gtfo this one, checking out for a while.

Oh wait he’s an atheist.. someone said it’s always about religion.

A known atheist with some rather extreme points of view on religion shot up a church - a church where a relative was in the congregation.

I think suspecting that this has to do with politics or the relative isn't out of line.

Sorry for your loss, Tx. Just a sad, sad situation. So many innocent lives lost.

And the saddest part of all of this is people wanting to make this a political issue. This isn't a political issue, it's a human issue. And the issue is that people no longer respect the lives and differences of others. Our society has degenerated to a point that it's all about "me, me, me".

Don't agree with me? You're wrong. Your beliefs don't match my beliefs? You're wrong. It just leads to all sorts of anger and hatred, and this is the result. People that hate others for their beliefs so much that they take it to the extreme--mass murder.

No law is going to change that. No law can stop an evil person from doing evil things. We've seen two instances of this in the last week. One guy uses a vehicle to run people down. Are we going to ban vehicles now? Another uses a gun he illegally purchased after lying on a background check. And we are supposed to ban the gun because he did this? Chances are, if he couldn't have bought that AR, he would have bought another gun. Maybe a shotgun. Is it more acceptable since he wouldn't have been able to kill as many people? What if he just decided to build a bomb instead?

No legal action is going to stop this.

Sorry you have to go through that. Maybe I am reading into things that are not there, but you seem to be taking this better than I could have. Stay strong. Their family will need your love and support.

Two heroic locals have been praised for stopping the worst mass shooting in Texas which left at least 27 dead.

Devin Patrick Kelley, 26, was leaving First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs after he opened fire on parishioners during mass when Stephen Willeford, 55, confronted him.

Texas Department of Public Safety Regional Director Freeman Martin said Willeford, a keen biker, had 'grabbed his rifle and engaged the suspect.'

But another local resident, Johnnie Langendorff, who had witnessed the confrontation refused to let the shooter get away. Both he and Willeford, a local plumber, jumped in his truck and gave chase

Kind of like renting a truck from home depot for the purpose of running people over? Do you we need to rethink that process

Are you too intellectually dishonest to concede that 8 is better than 58? Or 26? I don’t think anyone need apologize for wanting to make it more difficult for these assholes to kill as many people as possible.

how many mentally messed up people or people that have the potential to be messed are among you and can simply walk into their local Academy Sport Store and get a AR-15 for the sole purpose of committing this type of act we might want to at least review this process.

Not trying to be a smart-arse (these murders make me just as angry as they apparently make you) just don't see any way to thread the needle here that doesn't involve trampling the rights of the law-abiding.

Who gets to decide which people are mentally messed up? Especially, who would finger those who have the "potential" to be messed up?

The gov't? Our representatives who don't know a stock from a barrel from a magazine are going to decide which law-abiding citizens are not worthy of the protection of the 2nd?

Would the guidelines finger Joe Blow, whose grandfather's 2nd cousin on his mother's side was a nut, since mental issues can run in families? People who take sleep aids or nerve pills? Somebody who spanked their kid?

Once guidelines are set, and another shooter proves the guidelines don't eliminate every possible potential shooter from legally obtaining a firearm, will another designation be added for every gun crime or "potential" gun crime? When would it end? With the gov't, never, not until the only possible qualifiers for a gun would be fresh out of the womb with no history at all.

And when some mass killer wreaks havoc anyway by gaining a gun illegally, what then? Any laws passed will affect only legal buyers; illegal possession is already, well, illegal.

This is my position. I can’t comprehend how it can be seen as anything other than reasonable. I don’t want to take your guns. Hell, the neighbor who shot him shows the beauty—or even necessity—of the 2nd Amendment. So why can’t we talk about how we can get more of these guys armed and less of the evil/incompetent ones?
