Really feel for the people at that church and the community. I was sitting with my family at our baptist church this morning. It makes you really think about how it could have been you or your church. Our church hires off duty police officers for security but makes you think about what you would do in a situation like that.

That's why my .44 is concealed on my person everywhere I go, including church.

People will find a weapon. fertilizer, gun, knife, vehicle etc

Correct, one shooter. Read on fb the church neighbor shot the guy in the neck, hopefully he bled out in the most painful way possible.

They seem to be playing this very close to the vest. All we know is the shooters name and that he had a dishonorable discharge from the Air Force.
So... Vegas again?

Discharged for an attack on a spouse.

Exactly, and as American's we should be able to use a weapon that is designed to kill lots of people in as short of a time as possible. The gun did exactly what it was designed and marketed to do. It is our right to have people be able to do so.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but this guy did not legally have the right to own an AR15.

And imagine how much worse it would have been if that church member weren't legally allowed to carry the gun he ran the perp off with.
Very good point

I'd bet that you sit down to pee. McVeigh did a lot worse with fertilizer. 9/11? Planes. An AR-15 is a small caliber weapon that looks scary to bed wetting liberals. He could have done the same thing or worse with 3 or 4 glocks that were already loaded. So ban pistols now?

maybe it's a good thing, but the Google Maps street view of the church have been blocked from about a half block away

I noticed that also.
Why did they do that? It makes no sense.

Before anyone asks a Big Chicken Dinner (BCD) is also considered a felony conviction as it relates to gun ownership.

he was dealt with more severely than Bowe Bergdahl.

I am all for people having guns. As an American, I believe in the constitution so I would never say "let's get rid of guns", but this whole thing about "well this kills more people than guns and I don't see people doing this". Automobile makers are constantly trying to make vehicles safer to reduce the number of fatalities. Heart disease, the medical world continues to try to find ways to fight it. Cancer, they continue to find more accurate ways to treat specific types of cancer, etc.
But when it comes to guns. if anyone even mentions try to do anything that could possibly help cut back on mass shootings, people flip the frick out. Like gun shows. Anyone can go to a gun show and buy a gun. I am in full support of making it illegal for anyone to go to a gunshow and purchase a gun.
Let's look back at Sandy Hook. The jerkoff who shot up a school full of kids had mental issues and his mom had several types of guns in the house, which he used to kill her first. If someone has someone with some type of known mental illness, living with them, should not be allowed to have certain types of guns and only so many guns in the house.
We should have the mindset "oh well all these other things cause death, so we shouldn't do anything about guns".
People will downvote the piss out of this, but when you read about a gun who loses most of his family because some fricking nut job decides he wants to go shoot up a church or people being killed at a concert because they were protecting their loved ones.. 5 year old kids being shot, etc.. I can't help but think about how something needs to be done.

Local news is reporting the killer bought the AR at a San Antonio Academy Sporting Goods, wouldn't think he could pass a background check.

did it mention when he bought it? it's possible he had it before his discharge from the AF.
