Nothing can be done to stop this, but it may be time to at least try to tamper it. I don’t fricking know. I always think about how easy it is to do things like this. Some crazy kid could walk in Dodson at LSU and kill 100 people. Even though it won’t do much let’s at least make sure crazies don’t get guns legally.

I don't think you can (legally) buy a gun with a dishonorable.

He chose that church in Charleston because it had historical significance related to the Civil Rights Movement.

you can't. on the 4473 (form you fill out when buying a gun), there is a line that asks if you've been dishonorably discharged. even if you lie and check No, the NICS system is almost sure to flag it

That is correct.

quote:

It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person— (1) is under indictment for, or has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year; (2) is a fugitive from justice; (3) is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance (as defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 802)); (4) has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution; (5) who, being an alien— (A) is illegally or unlawfully in the United States; or (B) except as provided in subsection (y)(2), has been admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa (as that term is defined in section 101(a)(26) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101 (a)(26))); (6) who [2] has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions

You can ban guns all day, and you still will have mass-shootings. It is nearly impossible to get guns away from all crazy people; crazy people are just that, crazy. They will stop at nothing to get their hands on a weapon if that is what they so choose. Last time I checked, it is illegal to go into a church and shoot church goers; it is illegal to shoot into a group of concert goers; it is illegal to go into a school and shoot 26 innocent children; it appears that the laws didn't stop those cowards from committing such cowardly acts. Notice that this p**** ran when someone with a gun came after him. Yes, I am prepared to defend, and the government will have to take my gun from my cold, dead hands. I am carrying right now. All it takes is one person to ruin it all.

Excuse my ignorance, but what reasons could one be dishonorably discharged for? And is there a way to find out what that reason was?

We have a hero in Texas. I can’t wait to meet this guy.

He shot the shooter which caused the shooter to drop his rifle and speed away.

He then flagged down another hero and they chased the guy at 100 mph until he bled out and ran off the road.

At that point, our hero got out and kept the probably dead shooter at gunpoint until LEOs arrived.

An atheist shot up a rural Baptist church. Police are still looking for motives.

No, could be attitude, useless, etc.

I knew a guy who went in, and got one, because he claimed his feet and back hurt, and they got tired of him being useless, offered him a settlement(his injuries), and his out(dishonorable). He got about 25K
and went on his way.

How’d that work out?

In the last few months I’ve noticed you post a lot, and I must say you are without a doubt one of the worst posters on this entire site.
