Such a stupid senseless act. It's just frustrating people had to die because some stubborn idiots didnt think about safety.

Been on that lake it's beautiful but never road in those duck boats. Also, read different things that said the storm popped up pretty fast. Very sad to watch that video.

Yeah that's the worst part it being completely avoidable, I live close by and we were under severe tstorm warnings all day long, rolled through here with 75+mph winds.

Should have never been on the water.

That was hard to watch. But there was a certain point where the captain should have just put that boat on land

Understand those things do around 2mph in the water. Slow as hell.

I rode them once as part of a package deal in Wisconsin Dells. Never again. Frankly boring as hell and sllllooooowwwwww. Was thinking about how boned I would be riding one in to Omaha beach back in the day.

I don’t think boredom was a problem for the guys on the way to Omaha beach

And there is somebody in this thread that thinks high drivers have killed fewer than 20 people in 20 years?

Wasn't a typo.

Was thinking how boned I would be riding one of those slow bastards into Omaha.

Sitting ducks.

When I see those things I always immediately think of the Hot Springs incident.. I'm surprised there is still a demand for them. Going out in that weather on one of those crappy boats? Madness.

I'm texting mom now. She took the grandkids to Branson yesterday. I haven't spoke to her since she got there

Good news.

It’s tough watching that video. If I were on that boat, I’m looking to bail out and float. I assume the PFDs were even worth a damn. Enclosed spaces on the water are death traps.

You are right.

Number one...they shouldn't have been on the water with an impending storm like that.

Two...WTF about the windows on the duck boat? That's a death trap. If those windows aren't there I bet no one drowns or at least many less people die.
