re: Married folks — do you and your spouse keep separate checking accounts?

Actually i have a pretty smart wife, shes stay at home, and manages our finances. We both are at ~780 credit. I havent checked our accounts all year. Lots of stress off of my shoulders. We dont spend frivolously whatsoever. Only time we eat out is kids birthdays, and a joint bday dinner for us in feb.

I married my best friend and someone i respect, not a trophy wife or someone i control.

HUGE red flag. Something bad is going to happen to this relationship if it hasn’t already.

Wide and I have our own checking and savings, but we have a joint for mortgage/bills/etc that we both have a set amount each paycheck we contribute to. We’re also both very open about our savings, 401k, things like that.
