Well either way, they each own half of what they have combined. Just because they have separate accounts doesn't mean they each own what they have in their account. I assume he has more than her so if she wants to see their money situation she should just threaten to file for divorce.

Actually i have a pretty smart wife, shes stay at home, and manages our finances. We both are at ~780 credit. I havent checked our accounts all year. Lots of stress off of my shoulders. We dont spend frivolously whatsoever. Only time we eat out is kids birthdays, and a joint bday dinner for us in feb.

I married my best friend and someone i respect, not a trophy wife or someone i control.

HUGE red flag. Something bad is going to happen to this relationship if it hasn’t already.

Wide and I have our own checking and savings, but we have a joint for mortgage/bills/etc that we both have a set amount each paycheck we contribute to. We’re also both very open about our savings, 401k, things like that.

quote:

Wife and I keep separate. It works for us. Each of us pays a certain set of bills based on what we make. She then has her money for clothes, shoes, etc and I have my money to spend on whatever without being questioned on what and where we spend our money. We talk about any big purchases we have to make together and split that.
In my opinion it eliminates meaningless bullshite arguments of... You went out and spent how much on whatever.
We don't have that problem

Amen, same for us.

Yes but only because it’s more of a pain in the arse to switch over to one. Wife is free to log in to my account and check whatever the hell she wants at any time.
