I used to defend Allstate in Avoyelles. Believe me. I know.

It amazes me that what's happening in Columbia, Missouri is getting all the outrage and attention.
There is a baby boy being buried because of two monstrous police officers and hardly anyone is batting an eye.

I don't get it. What does that mean? Aren't most attorneys around the courthouse?

Yes, but there are about 40k people in the entire parish and it seems like 1/4 of them are lawyers. I've never seen a community that size support so many multi-millionaire trial lawyers.

Oh! Gotcha! Thank you.

Not only that. They're spreading the cop's story of domestic violence being the reason it happened.

Has their body cam footage been released yet?
Story I heard tries to paint the two guys as marshals who get bored while waiting to serve warrants and like to go out on calls?

Absolutely shameful.

I don't think it has been released but from what I hear you wouldn't want to watch it even if you could.

Latest is that the dad's fiancé had received threatening Facebook messages and the marshal had come to her house and the dads house threatening him over something (probably another girl)
The dad told the guy that if he came to his house again, he would hurt him or something along those lines. This is all according to the fiancé.

At this point I'm more inclined to believe her and the father more than I am the marshals.

This is all going to fall down around their heads. It really is a place where all of this seems very normal to insiders. The current DA is a decent person, but he's a product of the system. His father was DA before him (well, before Eddie Knoll). His uncle was mayor of Marksville back in the day.
I am acquainted with the father of one of these marshals/cops(whatever they were at the time of the incident - just bizarre for a city Marshal's office being involved in anything like this - they're just a step up from a constable - they should be serving warrants and running the city jail) and he seems like a decent enough guy. I don't know what's worse - that this happened or that I'm not surprised that it happened in Avoyelles (and there are plenty of good, decent people out there - many of whom I call friends.)

I grew up in avoyelles and still have a ton of family there but there are very few things I miss about living there.

Oh hell no. Really just to see what led up to shots. I don't want to see dead kids. Audio of those cops when they realize who they shot will definitely be played at trial to help or hurt their case.

The town has been needing an FBI office for 25 years. Maybe something will happen.

Someone posted this earlier and it made my heart sink that it might be true.

The wife said that after they made the exchange they saw the cop car lights approaching. As he pulled away she saw the dad pointing at the kid. I thought it was odd. Why would he be pointing at the kid while looking back and driving away? What was he trying to tell her? Then I realized, it wasn't intended for her. It was a plea to not do this with his child in the car

if this is true, it should be easy to prove, the psycho murderer cop will do life.

25? More like 50. Do you even Potch Didier, bro?
Seriously - between Didier and crazy Mike Johnson - those 2 are enough. That's excluding Angelo Piazza, Eddie Knoll, etc.
