Well the " never talk to the police" crowd has turned into the "they should be forced to talk"

They can't get their heads around this one.

They should. Hell they lied, were caught in a lie. The lie cost the life of a six year old kid and you think it's okay, not to file a report, and not to explain their actions.
Well it's all for naught, these guys are going away, hopefully for a long stretch.

Cops have one of the few jobs where lying and deception to protect themselves is widely tolerated.
Yet, we rely on them to tell the truth in their reports and eye witness testimonies in criminal court proceedings?

Forced to talk? Who's saying that?

Not defending them. They suck and im sure it will be proven they were in the wrong. Just defending their rights as citizens

I finmd that most posters who pick a name related to policework are in themselves police, you are just a bootlicker, not a cop. Itsaulgoodman.

Who is they? The ones involved?
Yes the marshals. They will say that they did this under the performance of their duties, essentially that it was their job to kill this kid. Do you realize how bad that looks? It's the exact opposite message LEO needs to be sending right now. They will try to hide behind the badge so they can walk- and give every cop hater fresh ammunition that cops can do whatever they want because they have a badge and are beholden to no one. If I were a cop I would be calling these guys out from the beginning as it tarnishes the badge in general.

This is literally the 1st case I can remember where I think the cops may be in the wrong.
Wow.
Well there is the case where the JPSO shot and killed my cousin who was climbing out from under someone's house in Metairie. He was a plumber with a tool in his hand.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I grew up in Metairie and I remember this incident. It was probably in 1977 or 1978.
A guy from the BR area named Benjamin Barry or Berry (I think) robbed the Metairie Bank main office on Metairie Rd, right at Airline Hwy. Presumably, he thought it it would make for a quick getaway, but it's also next to the main east bank JPSO Office...
There was an off duty JPSO deputy named Corcoran or Cockeran at the bank, working a uniformed detail, I think, but he may have been a customer. He and Barry/Berry shot each other, and then Barry walked over and killed him as he lay wounded. Barry goes back to his car, where his getaway driver (a guy named Pennington, I think) is waiting. They drive to BR and the driver drops him off at a hospital.
Meanwhile, in Metairie, JPSO launches an all out manhunt. Donald (Ronald?) Herkes was working on the plumbing, with a pipe wrench, under a raised house when JPSO sees him. They ended up killing him.
It was a big deal and obviously generated a lot of bad PR for the JPSO, which already had a reputation for being heavy handed. I don't remember what, if anything, happened to the deputy or deputies who shot the plumber.
The robbers were both young, as I recall. Maybe about 19 or 20...
The driver, who swore he didn't know Barry was going to rob the bank, took a plea deal - 40 years, no probation, no parole. Barry got the death penalty, but it may have commuted to life.
It's weird... I googled a couple of times to confirm my recollection, but couldn't find anything. Maybe I have the names confused, but I don't think so.
Edit: It happened on 1/30/78. The JPSO deputy murdered was Robert E. Cochran. Benjamin Berry was executed on 6/7/87.

Carfeful. I called LNCHBOX that earlier ITT and it triggered him. Good thing his girlfriend Topwater Trout was there to come to his defense.

The marshals names have been released
LINK
quote:
The names of four Marksville city marshals involved in Tuesday's fatal shooting of a 6-year-old boy have been announced.
Marksville Police Chief Elster Smith Jr. told The Town Talk that the men — three of whom are full-time Marksville officers and one reserve officer who also is an Alexandria city marshal — are Lt. Jason Brouillette, a 13-year veteran; Lt. Derrick Stafford, an eight-year veteran; Sgt. Kenneth Parnell, a five-year veteran; and reserve officer Norris Greenhouse Jr., who has served with the department for about a year.
All of the officers have been placed on administrative leave. Smith said whether the officers would or would not be on paid leave is still under discussion.

Why because I believe police under investigation for murder deserve the same rights as anyone else being investigated for murder?

Still waiting for you to link anything to back up the bullshite you keep spouting. Don't think I didn't notice you disappear when I asked you to back up anything.

Back up what? Your posts in this thread speak for themselves as I and others have pointed out. Anyone can go back and read the full body of your work in here and see your position.
Now go get your girlfriend Trout to come in here and start taking up for you again. Tell him that mean old Vader is being mean to you again.

Typical you. Deflect away.
Considering you still have not correctly identified my position, apparently not anyone can do it.

I'm not deflecting anything. You're position speaks for itself. And even though you keep pretending I'm the only one, a lot of other folks who have followed this thread have likewise called you out for your fricked up defense of these baby murdering cops. Why do you keep pretending it's just me?

What position do I have again? Since it speaks for itself, you should get it right. Helpful hint, it's not what you've been saying these last few posts of yours.

Link one post of my saying the cops did nothing wrong. Just one.
