should be a general rule of thumb in any city that you typically want to avoid a Martin Luther king

We did Milan a few times last weekend. That's a pretty sweet area.

That block says it all.

Which is sad. I used to live on Carondelet (the bad side of the tracks) near MLK ~5 years ago. It's an awesome area from St. Charles to the river. Lot's of stuff to do and a quick walk to the WHD/CBD/FQ. Unfortunately, despite some potentially really nice houses, the area around MLK will never get gentrified.

Dammit, I meant to stop by Lester Earl's place today. I knew I forgot to do something.

I always thought that you were in the CBD proper. This was me back in the day:

The place was incredible, and the gate kept out the riffraff. Would never live on that side of St. Charles if not for the extra security, but I really enjoyed my time in the area. 5 minute walk to Avenue Pub, the WHD, and some good restaurants.

Growing up we used to watch the Saturday and Sunday parades at St. Charles and Thalia. Now I'm rarely past Jackson watching a parade. For this reason.
