Doesn't mean FREE of Consequences

People totally misunderstand the "free speech" right.

It pertains to government control, not control by the owners of buildings, companies, organizations, etc.

Isn't "speech" controlled on this very site?

The NFL has already exercised their right to control "free speech" in the past.

The NFL, owners, and coaches have the right to control the speech and actions of the players.

This is failing on all 3 levels.

I wonder just how many people touting "free speech" knows the NFL would not allow the Cowboys to openly pay homage to the 5 cops that were murdered???

I think it is more known now than last week, it is the NFL I have been after as much as the players, FK them ALL

I just think it's funny some people give a random parade in Slidell sudden credibility.

As much as they may not have wanted to be in a local, Slidell parade, I'm willing to bet that they ARE a bit stung. After all, besides their physical talent and money, what's the big deal to most professional athletes? Ego. That's part of what's driving the kneeling to start with, in my reckoning, the "look at meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I matter!!!"

They're the only ones that can pull any weight here.

Everything else is wishful thinking.

Because 10 players decided to sit during the national anthem? Seriously, the overreaction is insane. Do I agree with people sitting/kneeling during the national anthem? Not really, but the beautiful thing about it all is, we all have the right to do what we feel we should do and just because I disagree with people's views doesn't mean I have to shut down all communication with them. If I didn't associate with people who didn't believe everything I did, I would be a hermit.

Krewes have the right to do this, but personally I think it is fricking stupid.

His time is almost up. But he is an example of the real problem. Politicians who use their position to do something that makes national headlines and get people worked up over shite that was never an issue before.

I feel the same with what is going on in the NFL. Last weekend, there were a total of 6 players who protested.. 6 out of 1696 players.. 0.03%.. Trump stirs shite up, people react to his comments which then creates a big whirlwind and all of a sudden, you can't enjoy a weekend of NFL football without political bullshite taking over any other stories.

It seems like we would be less divided if there were less politicians who are self serving jerkoffs creating problems for their personal gain.
