Mapping the last decade of industrial expansion in Louisiana

Map of $250 million investments and higher:


Probably a good indicator of where we could expect increased demand for residential and commercial space in the next decade.

Lake Charles and the I-10/LA1 corridor between Baton Rouge and New Orleans seem to be where the bulk of the expansion is occurring.

Our plant was thinking about expanding but instead will shift its focus to one of our other plants in Texas.

Deep water access and cheap natural gas probably have more to do with this than tax incentives.

There is about $8.3B in projects that have been cancelled on that list. They're in red.

That map appears to coincide with the map of highest pollution rates in Louisiana.

This state only attracts the chemical/petroleum industry. Nothing else.
