HENDERSON COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man said a recent trip to the North Carolina mountains turned into a close encounter.

Eric Walters told WTVD in Raleigh that while he vacationing in a cabin near Asheville Thursday morning, he took his Yorkshire Terrier, Zippy, on a walk through trails near the home. Walters said during that walk he saw what he thought was a bear so he started recording

“I quickly realized it was not a bear but a Sasquatch,” Walters said.

Once he said he realized what was going on, his little Yorkie sprang into action.

“Zippy could tell I was scared and got so riled up that he got loose and went after it,” Walters said. “It turns out the brave little guy chased the Sasquatch away and saved me from a possible encounter.”

In the video, you can hear Walters breaking heavily.

“That some people think I was a little over dramatic but how would you react to a Sasquatch?” Walters said.

Walters added saying that although Yorkies are small in size, they have a big heart — bigger than a Sasquatch.

Almost every adult human being in the US and Europe now has a camera on them at all times, and yet still no clear pictures of a Sasquatch, Yeti, or Nessie.

Interesting.

Not surprising. Yorkies were actually bred to track and hunt squatches.

That guy better feed that yorkie steaks from now on. It likely saved his life. I'm sure an animal of that size could have killed him with ease
