Yall will likely remember this one from earlier in the week. Older health care worker stabbed in the chest for her car and bled to death in her driveway, only about a block from where the infamous "mooning" video from a couple of months ago took place...

Well they caught the guy. He's a real class act.

quote:

A four-day search for the man suspected of fatally stabbing a physical therapist outside her 7th Ward home and stealing her car ended with his arrest at his mother’s home Friday morning.

Bryan Andry, 47, was booked on a count of second-degree murder in the slaying of 60-year-old Portia Pollock. Officers and U.S. Marshals captured Andry at his mom’s house in the 2100 block of North Miro Street, roughly a mile away from the scene of Pollock’s killing, police said in a statement.

The manhunt for Andry, who was out on reduced bail in connection with two armed robbery charges dating back to last year, was more complicated than police anticipated. As a condition of his release on bond, he was supposed to be wearing an ankle monitor that tracked his movements, but he had either removed the device, never had it, or had one that wasn’t functioning properly.

quote:

Court filings said that Andry — who has an extensive local arrest history — became the lead suspect in the case after detectives recognized him in a video from a nearby surveillance camera that showed him walking toward Pollock’s house minutes before her slaying. He also matched the eyewitness’ description of Pollock’s attacker, and two Crimestoppers tips implicated him by name, investigators wrote in the court records.

quote:

In an interview with WWL-TV on Friday, Andry's mother said her son told her "how bad he feels" before his arrest in Pollock's death. The woman, who declined to give her name, said her son was planning to turn himself over to police on Friday morning, but heavily armed officers rang her doorbell first, and Andry surrendered without resisting.

His mother apologized to Pollock's family, remarking, "I'm sorry for their loss and I'm sorry it happened."

She added, "At least he had a conscience. He was going to turn himself in."

Before Pollock’s killing, Andry had spent nearly a year behind bars on charges that he had stolen cash from a pharmacy at gunpoint and carjacked a motorist on the same day in March 2020. But he was able to post bond in February after it was reduced by the newly-elected Harris, who ran on a progressive platform in the fall and unseated incumbent Criminal District Court Judge Franz Zibilich.

Franz, one of the best judges in Orleans, not getting re-elected lead directly to this ladies murder.

The people of Orleans Parish voted for this. That's why they also elected Jason Williams....

This pisses me off so much.
Was just listening to Norman and his guest talk about this on WWL an hour or so ago. Previous judge had set bail at $245K. This nimrod of a judge, who was only on seat less than a month, reduced his bail to $100K so he could get out.

This is the kind of crap that community leaders and those concerned about crime should be upset about.

Its literally what they voted for. This is what they wanted.

Its why Harris and Williams were elected. They ran on Progressive, get out of jail, soft on crime, agendas and the people said "that sounds great." Both funded by George Soros I believe.

It is only going to get worse.

We keep saying this.
It keeps getting worse.
We keep doing nothing.

Do you know the answer, because I surely don’t?

I think they also mentioned that before the bail hearing, the perp had either cut off his ankle monitor or wasn't doing what he was supposed to and nobody within the system even cared or were monitoring him.

Trying to decide if Lester or Mingo will be the first in this thread to somehow take an opposing view.

The answer has always been white flight. It’s why the north shore exists. But in the usual course of things the trash inexorably follows via cheap apartments and subsidized housing and prog policies.

His mother is a piece of shite too. frick her for raising him, for protecting him, and now apologizing for him. Black community needs to take some fricking accountability for their “culture” of accepting this as normal
