Man who trains San Jose police about bias severely injured by riot gun

Not a good look. Dude was shot in the groin while his hands were up and required emergency surgery to repair a rupture possibly rendering him sterile.

I bet they coddled the officer that did it too. Put him on administrative paid leave or desk duty.
The good cops will never get the respect and pay they deserve until they make a real effort to get rid of all the jackasses.

I hear that a lot but it's not that simple.
Good people stand by because of work culture, societal pressure, and fear. Good cops risk hurting their careers by speaking up and perhaps more importantly they worry that they will not get the support of their brothers when shite goes down if they're known as a "rat". Many probably feel that if they call out other cops then it just makes everything worse because it fuels anti-cop sentiment. Obviously I disagree with that but it's not an unreasonable stance.
Unfortunately this just leads to doubling down on being shitty and makes things worse for everyone.
