quote:interesting plan
I had a man on Federal Probation where he and his elderly father agreed that upon his death would be buried in the back yard and a concrete slab poured over top of him so his son could collect his military pension. He collected it or close to 20 years until an audit realized that the guy was over a century old and they looked into it.
i’m sure they realized that they would never be able to keep it up indefinitely, and that the son would face prosecution when the scheme was figured out - and with the body completely inaccessible the son could never get a legit death certificate so i assume he hoped to die himself before getting caught
of course it could be that the son made up the “agreement” with his dad since we don’t have the dad around to confirm

We have this. Mom worked for the State of Texas. She set it up so that my sister and me get a monthly annuity until we die. We can't pass it on to our kids though.
She took a reduced retirement( along with my dad's). It's not much but to her it meant a lot.

Sounds like a solid financial plan.
