Its such an odd breed. You run into so many people looking for a "western" vacation. My parents did a rafting trip there with a late 20s year old couple from NYC and the guy kept freaking out about the horseflies, like completely scared of them.
Going to guess there are plenty of southern/midwestern suburban middle class idiot types who trash up the place and do similarly stupid things.
The idea that southern people, even hunters and fisherman, are somehow exempt, is unrealistic. Plenty of rednecks love the outdoors but treat it like shite.
