I had a grizzly approach me while hiking couple years ago. Didnt have a gun, but bear spray. She got close enough for me to have to use it, which is a gamble because it can deter them, or reeeeeeealy piss them off.
Luckily it distracted her enough for me to get the FRICK outta there

That's actually unfortunate. If she was shot in the face then that is a terrible to slowly die of infection or starvation. I'd rather the bear be dead within 100 yards. Actually I'd rather the dumbass not try and save stupid dog and let nature take its course. The dog probably could've gotten away anyway.

- He was gone for a week and when he returned he was told by elderly in-laws who were watching the kids that bears had been in the yard daily and he saw the signs too.
- He said he didn’t shoot her in the face... but the side or leg.
- he was using #6 shot .. so not a large shot
- he fired 2 warning shots and they began to leave so he walked farther out to hurry them up when mom said howdy.
- he tracked them after a while and didn’t see any blood.
- he said his kids are more important than non-rent paying squatters that can kill his kids
- and yes many animal rights people are upset.
