No doubt. The treatment for severe burns is excruciatingly painful. I feel sad for the guy. He was obviously mentally deranged when he did that. Certainly not the way I'd choose to commit suicide. Just give me a bunch of painkillers and a bottle of bourbon.

No, it's not the Madison Walmart, but it's also not like some of the terrible Walmarts in rural Mississippi.

Sad take-away from OP story is how many on this thread comments try to make this tragedy into a joke. Yes, he did it to himself. But no, it isn’t funny. Lack of empathy is one of the signs of a sociopathic personality disorder.
