Sounds like he’s becoming the Joker himself.

Pretty easy to determine who has seen the film, and who hasn’t. Just go read the reviews on Google or Rotten Tomatoes or even the TD Movie board. Quite a few people feeling empathy for a killer. Go see it yourself if you haven’t, and you’ll see what I mean.

This. Someone should have went knock the piss out of him. If I go to the movie, which I paid to go too, I am not leaving because some jackass is being a jackass. The best way to handle this is to probably go get security ASAP just so they can deal with him, but its dark in the theatre. If someone would have just laid him out, no one would have seen and problem solved..

There are plenty of people in this country who can empathize with that character. Anyone who has ever felt like an outcast, who has felt all alone in the world, can relate. That’s one of the primary reasons why it resonates for so many people. Many people have felt similarly to Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck character, and when he finally fights back, it’s sweet redemption for a lot of folks. Thankfully, not all of them ruin the show for everybody else the way this dickbag did.

same reason nerds are always the heroes in movies they are in - lots of people think of themselves that way

Exactly... except that in this case, their hero is an anarchist and murderer. Sadly, I think the majority of the OT posters relate more to the 3 guys killed in the subway.

Yeah, movies don't influence idiots like this guy. Keep pumping it out Hollywood and then blame the inanimate guns.
