Here, you have a single guy who dared attempt to walk in to a store and shop without a mask in a state that doesn't have a mask mandate anymore, and you have your feeling hurt.
So brave. I won't speak for Salmon, as he is more than capable...but nobody's feelings are hurt. Private businesses can do whatever the hell they want if legal. Trader Joe's can require its customers to wear suits and ties if they want. It's their right to do that, and it's their right to ask people to leave that don't follow their rules. Same for the cake baker who doesn't want to bake cakes for gay weddings. I think its petty on his part but that's his choice, and he shouldn't be forced to do something because of a customer's will.

We need more people like this guy.
We need more people that support local businesses that don't require masks.

Welcome to 2021. We live in a world where activism is the driver of opinion and corporate policy. The left has pushed things this way. The only way to shift it back to the middle is to push back via activism.
We need more people like this guy.
Then gather up your buddies and go protest outside the building. Send letters to the company. Use social media. All the tools that the left uses... are available to the right as well.
Understand these decisions are made at high levels of these companies. Yelling at the store manager ain't gonna change anything.

I'm furious. Grrrr.
You really are bent out of shape.
It's humorous how different you treat this guy for daring to shop than you do for the person who gets in the face of a shopper without a mask.

yep, and when this guy's kids walk into a store with no shoes and the store employee tells them, they have to wear shoes to shop there, will want to sue

This. Support places that don't have bullshite restrictions.

The mandate was unconstitutional.
How so? Saying it doesn't make it correct.

Sure.
But, if enough people do what he did, they will come around to his way of thinking.
If Trader Joes was simply concerned about maximizing the bottom line, their policies would be very different.
Trader Joes is one of those places that is concerned about image and corporate responsibility. And right now... more people in America think a company should ask customers to wear a mask, than don't. Especially with a clientele that Trader Joes has.

Why is a stores policies such a political thing for you? No one is having "freedom" taken away from them from having on a mask anymore than when I have to wear a button down with slacks to a nice restaurant.
You seem to have to make everything about politics, and your side hates that. It's so ironic.

You don't understand. I'm not suggesting the company doesn't have the right. I do think the company has a right to enforce whatever policy they want.
I'm saying that companies need to be reminded of what their policy should be.

50% feel that way. The other 50% raise so much hell that we end up with skewed policies because of the "squeaky wheel".
The left has changed the rules. Activism is needed if you want your values to have any say in how things are.

So now the public should determine the policies of a private business?

I think it's incredibly stupid for the government to require citizens to wear masks.
But once you step into a business, you need to follow their rules. Or you can go somewhere else.
Exactly.
Don't like it, tough, go somewhere else. It is their business. Free market will work itself out if you're in the majority.

It's a matter of time in Texas. Assuming the virus stays under control, the general population simply is going to begin ignoring these policies (just like this guy). It can't be stopped. This guy is just paving the way.

He expected what he got and knew he'd freak out and it would go viral.
People just want attention.

It's like you haven't been paying attention over the last 12 months.

Trader Joe's is one of the most stringent enforcers of mask wearing. It's really not worth all their bullshite restrictions.
What?
They literally just tell you to wear a mask. Like everywhere else has the last year.

Trader Joe's may be those things, but they have stood up to the PC/coronabros a lot in the last year.

I'm all about business rights but what bothered me was when the governor implemented the mandate in my area it was implied to honor people with medical conditions. It was even advised for businesses to do so especially grocery stores because they considered "public service" businesses and can open up themselves to future lawsuits but the masked covidians are so strong here that they never respected it.
