Man allegedly attacks wife with machete after she refuses sex

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A Monroe man was arrested over the weekend, accused of attacking his wife with a machete after she refused to have sex with him.
Authorities say Phillip Smith was in a vehicle with his wife, who was driving down Garrett Road. His wife told officers that they were arguing over sex when he pulled out a machete and swung it at her, but did not hit her. She said he then started pointing the machete at her, threatening her, so she pulled over and started honking her horn, hoping someone would come to her aid.
She says their 4-year-old and 5-year-old children were in the back seat as this happened. For his part, Smith said he never intended to hurt his wife, saying he was just threatening her to scare her. The report says he also admitted to trying to take his wife's phone so she wouldn't call the police.
Smith is charged with domestic abuse aggravated assault child endangerment.

I didn't really find that to be the case until we had kids. That slowed it down a good bit.

Even with kids I didn’t find it slowed all that much tbh. You just gotta make the time. I think the people whose wife isn’t putting out have something else about their relationship that’s gotten stale.
