MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis police say that on Tuesday, a man caught four teenagers driving his car and shot at them, injuring two.

The man, who police say is also a convicted felon, is now facing 13 felony charges and will be in court on Thursday.

One teen was shot in the knee and another was shot in the upper thigh. They were both sent to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in non-critical condition.

While officers were assessing the situation, the Jeep pulled up to the scene, White got out, and told officers that the Hyundai in the middle of the intersection belonged to him.

White was soon after arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated assault, eight counts of reckless endangerment, and one count of being a convicted felon with a handgun — all felony charges.

Police say he previously pleaded guilty to drug possession in 1999.

While yes, if you are convicted of a felony, you by definition will forever be a felon.

That said, if you don’t get in trouble again for 25 years my guess is you’re probably less likely to commit a felonious act than many others in society.

ETA: frick them kids

Non violent felons shouldn’t be restricted from guns.

Technically felon in possession of a firearm, but definitely a case where jury nullification is appropriate.

As long as Mr White isn't white he probably has a fighting chance.

I'd be embarrassed blindly shooting into a damn human occupied Hyundai & even admitting that it's my car. The gross materialism of Americans on full display here.

What if the thief actually picked up his 3 naive friends( it happens) after lying about his "new car" ? A busted arse Hyundai . Not much sympathy for this knucklehead ex felon.

It’s interesting new aspect of society/law since DAs and law enforcement seem to encourage lawlessness by not prosecuting.

It is putting more and more citizens in positions to defend or enforce themselves, and regular citizens are emotional and not trained at all on every nuance of self defense, etc.

Much like how they added criminal penalties for accomplices of crimes (i.e. if you are a part of a theft and someone gets murdered, you can also get charged with murder), it seems like they need to somehow extend that in cases like this.

By committing the crime of stealing the car, those teens caused this guy to get all of these charges. That should upcharge their crime and reduce his crimes. Everything that transpired after was a result of the stolen car which was a purposeful violent act by the kids.

But instead those kids get off scott free for anything and this dude will have the book thrown at him
