There was a study out of Sweden in the mid '90's suggesting that swallowing semen did actually decrease incidence of preeclampsia (Pregnancy induced hypertension) due to an immune modulation type of mechanism. I remember it came out when I was a resident, never was taken seriously. I can't find a link to the original study, but here is another citation along those lines. Pretty sure this never gained any real traction.
