There are numerous videos out there showing the training that all 18 year olds, male & female, go through. Mandatory from 18-21. Just an "odd" feeling seeing so many 18 yr old females walking around with these weapons seemingly attached as body parts. And their comments re same were 99% the same "we are proud to serve our country". There were 3 entire female - driven / armed tank crews that were actively involved in tracking down & killing terrorists, for the first time in Israel's history. Hard to take those images of those girls & try & picture any 18 yr old female American in the same role/ same attitude.

Female soldiers don’t do combat infantry unless they volunteer to do so. But they still carry at all times when they are part of their active duty/reserves.
They also only are required 2 years but can volunteer to do a 3rd, while Males are required to do 3 years.
Female IDF soldiers work in intelligence offices doing all kinds of work, I assume mostly surveillance, drones, etc. When I ask my coworkers they never want to talk about it so I never push.
Most of them (early 30s) all quickly volunteered for the draft after the attacks last October, and they were working 2 weeks “on” in an office but would get to go home every night.

Pretty common site in Israel. Last time I was over there the amount of attractive Jewish women open carrying very nice firearms had me thinking about converting...

Now compare them to a trained person that doesn't have to chamber a round. The Russians tried a pistol that could be chambered while drawing from the holster, it failed.
