And if you’ve looked at any of the welcome week pictures - LSU seems to be picking and choosing who they want to represent the school. It’s apparent in the pictures, at orientations lectures, and at the different college talks. Why are posters asking if LSU is now a HBCU? If you’re going to pretend, at least pretend to be smart.

It’s ok to not know everything. I have lived this life the last few years - you haven’t - you don’t know. I’ve repeatedly said my kids are STEM majors and still you want to talk around the facts. That’s fine. All of my other mom friends have kids the same age and we are all saying the same thing.

in general i dont know shite and only speak if i do know

the 2024 demographics break down for school of engineering is very easy to find. it 67% white, 12% black

in spring 2025 it was 13% compared to 33% of the state being black as a whole

i understand that is double the % it was 10 years ago. I get that, but most in engineering are not going to be ghetto, certainly not after freshman year.

LINK

you can find the facts here. so even now at 522 black students last spring registered in the college of engineering, still only 9.3% of black students on campus in the CoE.

are we to believe the top 10% of black students on LSU's campus are all ghetto? or would it be too much to ask to use our brains and realize maybe 1% are?

I haven’t said anything other than your outlandish claim is outlandish and you can’t provide any evidence it’s true

I didn’t know you had children going to engineering school presentations!!

The department heads did not give talks - students did

Well, the Turkish woman in the engineering department gave a talk - but I’m not sure if she’s considered white or not. Which is why I said no white male has given an engineering talk that my kids and I attended - because one hasn’t. I guess the 4 guys were taking their white privileged days.

And since this werent there - how would you know? I was. I’m sorry your beloved LSU is not what you want it to be.

why are you going to presentations with your college age son?

yea thats not weird AF

Women are currently dominating the academic realm. There are more women in college than men and girls are outperforming boys prior to college.

Considering the implications of AI, I'm not sure how much any of this will matter going forward.

Do “normal” kids do these presentations? Not sure how that works in engineering

Probably recruiting and/or orientation type events, where some parents do go.

But also where associate deans and professors speak (many of which are old white dudes) absolutely speak

wait are you under the impression we like where the school is going?

i specifically said I hated it and that we should be requiring test scores, taking the best students possible, raise requirements as much as possible and use greek life and sports to promote the school

i also railed against hte demographics shift in the other thread.

now look if we do take the best students and it means LSU becomes 80% black than so be it. Just take the best students giving no preference to race. race or nationality shouldnt even be a question on the application period

take the best.

i hate LSU admissions right now

but you said....there is no escaping the ghetto trash

we simply pointed out that is not true at all and provided the stats to back it up

then you switched to DEI when the CoE is still 62% white.

i get that but in my experience the only parents that go are those of weird kids.

I get invited all the time to speak Btw and im white

oh, let’s twist what I said

This was at one of those senior preview days and then at orientation (that a parent is supposed to go to ) - so my kids were not in college yet

Do you know during welcome week, there was a time slot allocated where the student was supposed to go build Legos with a learning specialist?

My son didn’t go to that.

Do you also know that LSU tells the parents to check up on their child’s grades?!?!? That’s ridiculous.

absolutely not IME. the normal kids dont even go to those much less give a presentation.

like i stated from the start...I do not like where LSU is headed and hate the admissions

but you absolutely can major in something like engineering, finance, accounting etc and join greek life and absolutely avoid the ghetto trash like she claims. maybe not 100% but certainly 97-98% of it

you will still run into some of it in the quad...it was like that when i was there 25 years ago in certain north area of the quad, you still fun into it at stores and yea if you live in a dorm you will see some

but every black kid is not ghetto and only the top 10% are in the majors I listed. its racist AF to think every black kid is ghetto and the top 10% are just ghetto Af

also in engineering there has always been a bigger enrollment from foreign students, specifically from Asia.

none of the things I have said are false

they have had those types of events with learning specialist and career people since i went to spring testing in 2000. most colleges do.

again....that has been a thing for couple decades since grades went online and they especially encourage it with freshman. At freshman orientation 20 years ago when the paws system came online they specifically had classes for the parents to teach them how to check. pretty sure with reggie(the phone system before my time) they did the same.

still doesnt change anything i said.

ok you gave AI stats that could not necessarily be correct

School of engineering is almost a quarter female - it is majority white but that doesn’t mean it’s not ghetto - white people can be ghetto, too

Get out of your little box

However, my point is that - which this is obvious -that LSU is choosing the minority students to be the representation of the school -it’s apparent - your ‘stats’ actually prove my point - if the engineering school is 70% white - then why were all the student presenters not white??

Because lsu is inflicting unnecessary things upon their students - and you’re not going to escape it

I’m glad you’re an expert even though you have no student at lsu, you didn’t even go to lsu, and you don’t even live in Baton Rouge.

1. That’s not true
2. You first said white males so now you’ve changed the argument

I didn’t say that

to play with Legos? I don’t think so. They didn’t have that in spring testing of 1998.

this is bull shite - my parents did not even attend freshman orientation.
