That Kelley Williamson feed is nuts!
I'm not trying to make light of this situation by any means. But, it seems that the flooding happened in one of the best places. So many people in North LA are outdoors men. People are willing to help and have the equipment. Kayaks, canoes, lifted trucks, waders, etc.

My current thinking is the HRRR may be a little bullish, but I don't know exactly what that run shows accumulation wise. Hopefully the global model trends continue and put the bulk of the epic rains out over the Gulf east of NOLA.
It's hard to have much certainty though. The pros have been given fits with it.

I'm in the far west portion of EBR and it's starting now.

Hypothetical downstream effect if the dam failed? I know that's probably not going to happen, but what if?

Clear Lake in Desoto Parish - there is a boat ramp down near where that lone tree is. The water was over the bridge, closing 509 which meant workers at International Paper's mill were stuck.

For perspective, on average the Mississippi River dumps 600kish CFS into the gulf.

I was supposed to be driving to West Monroe for some plant work at the paper mill but I am glad that job got cancelled because I would be stuck there. I hate it for anyone who is affected by this and hope the water spigot turns off soon.
