Haven't used the snow blower in a few years so I'm looking forward to it. I just wish this was the forecast two weeks ago.

Whether or not it’s about the weather?

So is this thing still going to wreak havoc on the South or is a typical winter weather storm where it the forecast peters out the closer we get?

Its that time of year to be grocery aware. If you wait til local weather casters issue their doom and gloom its too late to beat the rush.

Seems to be petering out for now but we are in that weird range where sometimes things get lost only to come back. Right now it’s looking like temps may be just a bit too warm. Who knows though, models are horrible with cold air sometimes. Ensembles look very promising for continued cold weather through end of month and beginning of Feb.

Sunday morning into afternoon --> amazing winter storm with heavy snow, sleet, and ice.
Convective bands w/lightning = thundersnow or thundersleet, etc.
Kansas City to St. Louis will see it all.

@RyanMaue
NWS 3-day snowfall forecasts do not get the entire winter storm event, but enough through Monday morning (7 AM ET) to get an idea of what's coming.
Large area of 8-12"+ snowfall from Kansas to Indiana.
Maps don't show entire event for Ohio --> D.C. but lock in 6"-12", too.

@RyanMaue
Risk for subzero temperatures where the snow falls from Winter Storm by middle of next week.
I think St. Louis will eventually join the subzero club, but also Indy and maybe Cincy. Or single digits.
Wednesday morning lows [GFS 12z]

Latest models certainly are not doing any favors for the snow lovers. However the event is still a week away so nothing can be said for certain as of yet.

I'm good with a shite ton of snow if need be. Just get that ice the hell out of my hood.

crazy temp anomaly on my Accuweather app:
on tomorrow’s forecast for Natchez, the spread between the high and low temps is only 2 degrees (Hi 54, Lo 52)
on Sunday the spread is 50 degrees (Hi 76 Lo 26)

Gonna get cold here in Louisville. My employer does not have pipelines that are outdoors, which are heat treated. Nor, does the company have a plan to go into freeze protection. Don't ask me why, because they simply don't take safety seriously. You live in KY right? You heard about the plant explosion at the color plant? Like them, my company is European owned, and don't have a clue about shite like this. I'm hoping for every single pipe to burst, or break at the site, then they can shut down, lay me off, and cut me a generous severance check. It's coming sometime this year, but it would be glorious to GTFO before February

Expecting around a foot in my area too. Should be a good storm. The cold is welcome. About every night next week is below zero
