When I used to work at Stennis I was on the phone with someone in California while they had a 4.x earthquake.

Meanwhile they fired off a rocket test shaking our entire building. Guy on phone in California thought the world was coming to an end.

Worst part of living in California is the deductible on Earthquake insurance. Homeowners have to pay the first $20k even with the insurance policy. Don't get bailed out like people living in fricking flood zones without insurance, super surprised it flooded... Must be nice to be poor

Damnit! Experiencing an earthquake is a bucket list item and I almost drove out yesterday to go fishing at Casitas but went to Lake Havasu instead.

I felt a temblor in Mexico City in February. It was not pleasant to say the least. But it was low magnitude

Yea because FEMA has never given a dime to people affected by earthquakes and wildfires.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this

bullshite three ring circus sideshow of freaks

Here in this hopeless fricking hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fricking time. Any fricking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona Bay.

Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your Prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.

It's a bullshite three ring circus sideshow of freaks

Here in this hopeless fricking hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fricking time. Any fricking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona Bay.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by fault lines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dip shits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cause
I sure could use a vacation from this

Stupid shite, silly shite, stupid shite...

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.

Learn to swim. [3x]

Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Learn to swim.

frick L Ron Hubbard and
frick all his clones.
frick all these gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.

Learn to swim.

frick retro anything.
frick your tattoos.
frick all you junkies and
frick your short memory.

Learn to swim.

frick smiley glad-hands
With hidden agendas.
frick these dysfunctional,
Insecure actresses.

Learn to swim.

Cause I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom, please flush it all away.
I wanna see it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend.

I wanna see it all come down.
Bring it down
Suck it down.
Flush it down.

There are many poor people in Louisiana 1.5 years after the flood that still have nothing you fricking idiot. If only they could pay 20k to have a home again im sure they would be ecstatic.

Aw man, that's not cool. No one in Cali wants NOLA to have a CAT 15 Katrina. Let's be civil.

I have no connection to either, but the world (US especially) would be better off without L.A. - San Francisco. Nature, God, whatever seems to agree:

That's odd that insurance prior to the flood didn't give them that option. Odd thing about insurance, having it is beneficial to your situation, less beneficial wanting to pay your premiums afterwards though.

You think fricking insurance made people whole?

You must have never had to file a flood insurance claim. I know people on both sides of the situation. The people that had insurance were just as fricked and spent as much out of pocket in many cases.

I know people without insurance that had homes valued less than 70k that lost everything that live in homes without interior walls. One is 88 years old lives on SS and didnt live in a at risk flood zone. Had nothing but a house to her name. Fema gave her 8k. Thats great but doesnt get her on her feet. Im sure she could have found a way to spend 400 on the insurance that would have just fricked her over in the end but most people dont expect a 1000 year flood event either.

I didn't feel it either, George. There was one in Mexicali last night. I also didn't feel that one.

You just said she didn't even live in an at risk flood zone, well how did this happen then? What are insurance rates in the most flood prone state on non flood zones? Pretty low I'd imagine
