CG, the practice of law is getting harder as there is not the same collegiality as there was when I started in 1978. I still enjoy being in the courtroom, though.

I do not practice constitutional law. Most of what I do now involves businesses, real estate, some personal injury work, and some trust and estate work. It keeps me busy. I’ll hit 50 years in DC in ‘28, 50 years in Virginia in ‘29. I’ve only been admitted in Maryland since 2000. Sometimes I think I’ll retire. But I have to hit 50 in DC and VA first (or die trying!).

If you had to pick the Top 5 in DC via firm or personal, who would you pick for your own family?

As a multi generational caregiver, it was getting worse before c19, but degrading even faster since. Somebody will have to explain how massive private, for profit, insurance companies seem to have preference over "The People" is well beyond my pay grade. Boomers are aging out so it will reach crisis level soon. All generations after will face even bigger walls. Just do not get it, and how it got this way in the USA.

FWIW, not a fan of single payer, and not a fan of all private seems the solution is something else but neither party in their current incarnations will go against the money and lobbyist to actually do what is best for "The People"

To me boomers are more like 38' to 58', especially in the USA

Wanted to spare their kids all the crud they went through so were a bit soft on them. In the USA I think you go to born but not developed. A kid say born in 38' in the USA would be too young to remember World War II but would benefit from having parents in the previous generation that would have spoiled them inadvertently.

It would depend on what my issues were. I am not sure I’d go with a national or multi-national firm for anything over a well respected local firm.

See previous response. The legislatures of the states and the congress are the ones who must change lobbying laws. Some of the lobbying practices are no longer allowed, but there are many loopholes yet to be closed.

People can talk all they want, but the only way to make changes is with the vote.
