I did not know that.
I can tell you for certain eating fresh picked feed corn is a mistake. This was in Virginia, but I'm sure it holds true for every state.

More story:
I was at a friend's house & took a big bite out of a peach growing on one of his trees. After the 1st bite he told me to check it for worms. It was full of them
I think it's some type of wasp that lays their eggs in tree fruits. This was in VA as well.
