About the only thing to do in Port Allen is board dive/snorkling or tour boats. Glass beach used to be cool but it was shite the last time I was there. Lots of good shore diving and snorkling in the general area though. Oddly enough there are cane fields all to the east of Port Allen.

I was covering the John Curtis win over Sacred Heart for the New Orleans paper instead of local teams.
I’ve got Prairieville at Southside football playoffs tomorrow and back to the Volleyball tournament on Saturday

Sacred Heart had a hitter taller than me.
John Curtis has good height but I don't think they have any 6-footers
The first year I covered volleyball, I was at a Teurlings Catholic game during their series of eight straight state titles.
The other team, I think it was South Lafourche or some other Bayou Region public school, was deflated when they saw Teurlings run out for warmups. Five girls around 6-foot-0 or taller.
