There's no parade before it...Thoth is a noon and there's nothing until Bacchus.....but Bacchus is the biggest day of Mardi Gras...people start getting out there as early as 6am
That whole neutral ground between Magazine and St Charles is jammed packed by 9 am

The worst part was when her shithead nephews got there. He was already dead. They were freaking out cussing the doctors to try and bring him back. I realize anger is part of grief but this 15 year old was lashing out.
Got back in the family room and my lady tried to calm him down and started mouthing off to her. I told him he wasn’t gonna talk to her like that regardless. He said “what are you gonna do!?” I started to get up out my chair and was about 2 seconds from popping that little shite in the mouth when the womenfolk got between us and got him out of there.
I realize he’s in terrible grief but nobody is gonna talk to her like that. First time he met me and didn’t know me from Adam.
He apologized later...had me red for a bit though
