the vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting it or spreading it anyway so a campus "outbreak" is inevitable

what happens then? that's where it will be interesting

When do they stop requiring monthly checks? Is it a certain vaccination % or a certain case loading in LA?

Is that true? The faculty really wanted virtual learning again?

Bus Report yesterday had a note that they were pushing for this...

At the start of the semester, LSU will require all students to submit proof of either a vaccine or a negative covid test. Unvaccinated students will also have to get covid tested on a monthly basis throughout the semester @WBRZ

Not surprised at all by this, but I'm ashamed that my college alumni is stooping this low. Moronic decision yet again.

Yeah im serious.

They usually dont just let people retake exams.

The professor's policy may be to take the zero and it will be the one that is dropped.

Bu okay. Lets say you have to quarantine for two weeks, come back and test positive again. At what point are you taking this exam? You are already well into the material for the next one.

Awesome! Let get this thing under control!

Control is definitely the goal, but it's not about control of any virus.

Also, I'm sure this has been asked, but what about positive antibody tests? What about positive covid tests? Will they be able to start school 10 days later?

Agreed.

I’m hopeful that this is the first of many pleasant surprises from Tate. I think it’s walking a solid tight rope between vastly differing opinions and expectations between the average lsu donor and student and the LSU faculty.

Pretty much all schools are doing this. Common sense.

Info on LSU website under their COVID testing protocols for 2021 states that you can substitute a positive test results within the past 90 days as well. So you have to submit one of the 3:

1- proof of vax
2- proof of neg test within 5 days of showing up on campus and test every month after if still unvaxed
3- proof of pos test within last 90 days

Here comes more relinquishing of choices to those in power.

Remember every sheep of the government insisted this wouldn't happen a year ago. "They'll never make it mandatory!" And then they do...and because it's gradual more sheep just accept it as a good thing.

By that point, they will have moved the goal posts again. Now instead of tracking it by total cases, it'll be something like presumed cases.

I saw some over the top hyperbole last weekend from professors on social media. The echo chamber was alive and well.
