Good post.

LSU Northgate cant be saved.
I couldn't disagree more. The way you save it is investors buying up properties and pricing out the hood rats.

If you want a quality area of town you have to make it happen and not just hope it happens. That part of town being an amenity to the city and campus would bring such a better reputation to LSU and the city
You haven't been paying attention to Baton Rouge politics over the last decade.
LSU isn't going to get treatment like that unless Southern does too.
LSU should have tried to get into St. George.

The problem started after the Southeastern game.

LSU gameday is no longer safe and they’re not going to do anything meaningful to fix the problems. It’s just a matter of time before someone dies. The entire campus is completely out of control. I’d like to know how many police officers are on campus. Because all they do is stand around or sit in their vehicles. They don’t enforce a damn thing.
And how many of these young black males are carrying a weapon?

Thanks for the explanation on what's going on. I just emailed my state legislators to express my concerns about the gameday shootings. I urge everyone to do the same.
I encourage everyone to let the LSU Administration and Athletic Administration hear from you. It is the only way things are going to change. I work on campus. Yes, the student body is more diverse and “test optional” admission policies are an issue. However, the bigger problem is the surrounding community. Any time there is a free event for students or the campus community, it is swamped by non student residents of college age who come for the party. The campus has become “the club” where young teens from the community come to play. The back to school event is a perfect example. When it is an open street party it’s difficult to police who should be there or who shouldn’t. An event I was directly involved in strictly enforced student ID for participation and we were met with lots of aggression and very little back up from administrators who were afraid of backlash or accusations. LSU has to beef up campus security and unfortunately game day policies may need to be adjusted in terms of entry to campus.

Simple solution. NGM needs to pay for official police security for any "outside" events.

Time for the YNIL Fund to get up and running.

If you work on campus, then you know damn well they’re not going to do anything meaningful to get the campus back under control on gameday. They’ve known for years there are major problems on campus and their only answer is to bring in more law enforcement who just adds to the number of police who stand around and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Park some Nat guard armed vehicles over there

“They’ve known for years there are major problems on campus”
I walk campus almost everyday .. I have attended and tailgated for many many years..
Things have changed significantly and a step function this year. Demographics and “style of apparel “… has changed.
I have altered my traditional paths from tailgating to the stadium this year due to not wanting to inhale massive amounts of second hand weed….. Walk through porn show tryouts .. and be in unsafe bystander safety issues..
Fix it LSU.. if not it will not end well..

No one understands what you are trying to get across. Can you please explain this more plainly? Lots of words and I am confused. Stop the word salad and just outright say the problem as you see it, please.
It is a very basic premise and it has been the case for quite a while: The YN's are moochers, they want to go where they can do all their bullshite for free. Open a black club, and the problem generally is not inside the club - it is outside the club where all the freeloading YN's loiter. I have a black event center and a black club behind my office. Small town, and both owners keep the thumb on everything. Never had any problems because they run off the YN's who tended to try to congregate outside.
Black trail rides were a safe staple - bunch of black cowboys and their families hanging out. Then, someone figured out there could be big bucks in the events if you expanded who could come. They quickly became shitshows that basically had to be regulated out of business. A particularly bad one involved about 7000 hoodrats from Shreveport coming to the event - way over capacity, no parking, people littering and raising hell, people shitting and pissing in yards, parking on people's lawns, etc.
You cannot let the YN's weasel their way in.

Northgate merchants allowed 2 smoke shops to come to that area

I’m surprised they don’t allow it with all the casual racism that IS allowed, but I digress.

I park near the lsu band building on Aster street. Been doing that for years. The area has been getting worse as time progresses. In fact, my truck took bullets during an on campus gang related shooting for last year’s Ole Miss game. There has been a huge difference in that area this year as compared to last year; and not in a good way. Luckily we left early enough to avoid the closure of Highland. The vap shop on the corner of Aster and Highland had a huge presence of YNs. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when some innocent family or bystanders get caught up in direct fire or in a crossfire. There needs to be a discussion of political leaders and influencers about this area before it’s too late. But I’m afraid it’s too late because that area is worse than ever.
