Leadership Transition
From NOLA.com

quote:
The LSU and LSU Law communities collectively are expressing their immense gratitude to LSU Law Dean Alena M. Allen for her visionary leadership, steadfast commitment, and remarkable accomplishments as she embarks upon the final academic year of her impressive tenure. Dean Allen is planning to join the faculty of the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center full-time at the conclusion of this academic year.
quote:
Dean Allen's last day as dean will be September 19, 2025, after which she will transition to a full-time faculty role within the Law Center. LSU will solicit nominations for an Interim Dean from the law faculty and staff. The Interim Dean will serve in this capacity until a national search is completed for the Law Center’s next permanent dean.

LSU law school dean to step down after 'amicable resolution' reached in dispute
quote:
Just two weeks ago, LSU Interim Executive Vice President and Provost Troy Blanchard met with Allen to tell her the LSU Board of Supervisors had decided to “make a change in leadership at the law school” because “they were just going a different direction," according to Allison Jones, Allen's attorney.
quote:
On Friday, Jones said an "amicable resolution resolved all claims." "The agreement is a result of good-faith negotiations between Dean Allen and the administration of LSU," she said.

Imagine having Bill Corbett one of the preeminent legal minds on the planet in your building and he’s not already your dean

I’m sure the bright light of Remy Starnes will outshine Corbett.

There are quite a few lsu law threads in the OT. I remember most of the names in them, but I don't remember all. I just did my time and got out lol. Lot of good professors and classmates. I'm just not in love with the game of academia like some are.

Many academics would prefer NOT to be considered for dean. Being dean means most of your day is spent listening to students and faculty gripe (faculty are the worst - every one is a diva). . . As well as having to answer to the President/Chancellor. Rubbing shoulders with donors and begging for money. Can you imagine having to kowtow to Gordon McKernan so he can build the law school a new auditorium when you know you are immensely smarter than he is?

Can’t see Randy Trahan doing that! But it would be hilarious!

Ok. A couple of questions:
1. Did you give Landry a big sack of money?
2. Are you not very smart and will you do as you are told?
3. Do you have a JD?*
*Optional if you hit out of the park on Item 2.

Remember what Huey Long said about his attorney general?
If you want to hide something from him, put it in a law book.

It’s not controversial unless you get busted in an overseas airport trying to smuggle marijuana into the US.
