but to think some super racist took the time to (a) find out where she lives (b) make some arts and crafts to symbolize his/her racistm, and (c) took the risk of exposing him/herself to being outed by GOING TO HER HOUSE AND LEAVING IT ON HER DOOR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE frickING DAY?

As I understand it, she claims someone just walked up and wrote on an existing decoration on her door.

Years ago, I had a black guy in my platoon at FT Bragg. One day he comes in all flustered saying someone keyed his car. "Someone" had scratched the N word across his hood. Called the MPs. They wrote a report. He got his entire car painted. He had an old 80s Impala and got a free paint job from the Army. We all knew he did it. When we asked him, he just grinned.

My point is, faking this kind of stuff happens. In my life, I have never known any white person to write the N word on anyone else's belongings as a threat. It just doesn't happen. It probably happened a lot prior to the 1960s but not anymore.

Why not write it on the door? Why would a racist go buy a fabric pen and graffiti her decoration instead of just writing on the door with a sharpie??

Perhaps someone didn't want to deface the apartment property.

Yeah, that's also a quirky aspect. No one is going to sit outside someone's door in the middle of the day and scribble a message on a decoration on someone's door and risk getting caught. It's possible, but not likely. However, it does play to her advantage. She writes on the decoration, opens the door, and hangs it on the outside while the coast is clear. Super easy for her to pull it off with no witnesses.

It is hard for me to fathom this being real, because I would never do anything like this, nor do I know anyone that would.

I imagine someone with so much hate would be more vile in their attempts to dehumanize. I'm thinking spray paint and broken glass for the world to see. Those violent and destructive acts would send a message. The girl initially thought this was a joke.

The fact that it's written legibly is a red flag (not to mention the handwriting is noticeably different). Try writing hastily on a soft, rounded, fabric surface dangling vertically from a door and see how legible the writing is. I think the arrow is important too. If you're writing a message that can get you expelled or that can bring the DOJ and FBI down on your arse, you're not gonna take the time to embellish with arrows. You're writing fast and hauling arse.

A resident just told me the complex does not have cameras in the hallways. I guarantee you Clarke knew this and figured it would be an easy set up.

Every sorority girl I know thinks it's the cutest thing ever to have a black girl in their chapter, which is kind of racist in itself but not in a hateful way

So is every guy at every function trying to hook up with the solo black girl for bragging rights?

me give you a hypothetical: if your kid complains that they can't sleep because there's a monster under the bed, your first reaction would be to show them that there's no monster there. If they continue to insist it's there after you continue to disprove it and then one day your child brings you a note that the monster left, do you assume that the monster became real or do you assume that the child is lying?

People like her are desperate for some real racism. They want to be oppressed so bad so they have a "cause" and an excuse.

They're so desperate for the KKK, the last klan sighting turned out to be a priest in his robes

oh yeah. it's hilarious on so many levels

the KKK is essentially dead and doesn't exist in any meaningful numbers whatsoever. it has NO power and is basically discredited, even within the white supremacist groups who are actual threats to minorities (yet they lack an iconic name)

so when they claim "the KKK" did something it's hilarious b/c the odds of anyone in the KKK being in any given area are almost 0 due to their numbers. further, the KKK just doesn't do shite like this anymore b/c they're not really much of anything anymore. yet, they try SO HARD to link teh KKK

the last real incident with a person in a KKK robe was a black man protesting black-on-black violence (and the lack of attention this gets) in Philadelphia

if you her one of these random stories about racism today and the alleged victim brings up teh KKK you can automatically assume it's complete bullshite and fabricated, with a HEAVY presumption to overcome that assumption

I'm black, and have been at lsu since 2013. I have yet to see a lick of racism, definitely sounds like this girl is "crying wolf."
