think The Standard was new and expensive when my daughter attended LSU. College housing is a joke in general. I wonder what off housing rental is now. It was like $700 or more per room in an off campus apt. in 2016. Forget where she stayed, it was decent.
My daughter just graduated in May and spent her last 3 years living in a 1 bedroom at The Venue. It was $1010 a month with about a $40 electric bill.

I looked this place up.
It is off campus student housing but looks pretty damn close to campus. Over by where the natatorium is or used to be.
These also have to be relatively new because I lived in those apartments rt on Nicholson there where voodoo bbq was and this place didn't exist.
After looking at some of the reviews there are pictures of rats and roaches outside. That's where they should be.
These people would have had a fricking heart attack living in Kirby Smith.

That’s for the bedroom. The den and kitchen are joint use by all renters in the apt.

I just went look at the reviews for this place and holy shite, you could not pay me to live there.
Its student housing.
Its actually pay per room so it's not that expensive. It gets expensive if you get a 1 bedroom.
And this is the type of stuff getting 1 stars.
Again, I lived in Kirby Smith dorms my freshman year. This is probably amazing compared to that.

I remember the Venue. Now I recall my daughter stayed at the Woodlands, which seems to be Redpoint now. I think it was $750 per month per bedroom.

Their building on surface lots spree over the past few years has probably eliminated at least 1000 to 2000 parking spots easy.
Time for a couple of parking decks.

No. But the student apartments lease bedrooms. Unless it was a true 1 bedroom. We were there years ago so it seemed like a price increase for a room. The Venue was nice. If she got it for that cost for a 1 bedroom that’s great.

Ask yourself honestly, Do you really believe your neighbor called LSU admissions, reported his son's 35 ACT score (which they already had), and never heard back?
Who are these parents that are contacting Universities on behalf of their kids?! Is that a thing?
I drove myself to the office off of Wooddale, when I was 18, to dispute their TOPS decision (treated as out-of-state student, because of a correspondence home-schooled diploma - I lived in LA my whole life) and then to argue about my parent's income being included on my FAFSA, even though they were not supporting or speaking to me.
Being in admissions must suck.

Reason #256 not to send your Kids to Baron Rouge

True.
They are moving them in with rats and roaches.
