So, just make up some new name for your fraternity and call it a private club. Charge each member a $1 membership fee and have a damn tailgate. Other clubs are allowed to tailgate, right? They can't say "if you are a fraternity member, you cannot tailgate before a game". Just make sure no one wears any greek symbols on any clothes.
shite! We had a club in high school that we called "the literary society".....I don't think any book was ever even opened during any of the "meetings".

This has probably been brought up, but why don’t they just tailgate somewhere on campus without all wearing their frat symbols, they’ll just look like any other college kid tailgate
They kinda were already doing that sans the pledges having to dress up on shirt and tie.
LSU has it as a rule if 3 or more fraternity members are together it’s considered a gathering no matter the function.
I think how it will play out is fraternities will still tailgate somewhere and will largely be ignored because the police don’t have time to bust everyone. Until a fight breaks out or someone ends up in the ER then the school will connect a handful of people to put the fraternity on suspension.

You dont get it. Who are they to say they cant gather in the first place. frick your contingency plan bitch.

You really think they are actively coming up with a contingency plan? This was their plan all along....get greeks out of LSU.
This is step 1. Next step is people wont join frats because they cant tailgate....then these kids wont come to LSU because they cant join a greek system.

No, LSU allows for nothing bigger than a 10x10 tent that must be registered through LSU with no more than 7-8 people per tent
When did that rule come in?
Is that only for student organizations?

it's pretty easy to identify greek tailgates when theres 100+ guys and girls, plus they have the huge white tents, speakers and band stands etc

funny how the frats always figure out a way to eventually outwit the nitwits

Greeks need to boycott the homecoming parade since they are about the only ones that make floats, quit doing philanthropy and any other positive thing that the school forces them to do until they start getting something back from lsu

It’s almost like nobody even read the fricking whole email
They clearly said that they were coming up with a contingency plan and will announce it in a few days
but an all caps BANNED in the title is much better for clicks

Maybe they should find another place to purchase friends. Doesn’t look like theyre getting a lot of bang for their buck

But then what would there be to melt about?
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure LSU will come up with a really dumb plan for them, but it is funny watching a bunch of people no longer in college melt about this.

Easy to tell the ones that had to pay to join a club so they could have friends in college.
I always thought it was so strange when people say things like this. I wasn't in a frat but certainly don't have that view of them. I hate to be spouting the same shite as everyone else but what happened to make you think like that?

This. Just gotten ridiculous and will likely lead to much diminished Greek culture on campus until it's nearly gone altogether. Sure glad I had my days 2002 to 2006, and even then Angela G. was tough to deal with.

I suppose everyone could transfer to the CotO but it looks like there is oppression there too

Just call it sitting around cooking and drinking, leave the tailgate tag off.

If there are any young people applying to college that are reading this right now, for the love of god, don’t go to LSU. Go to UGA or something. LSU admin has become a behemoth of pc corporate culture and red tape. It’s just not worth it anymore.

yet another blow to the culture that was once a saturday/saturday night on campus.....
and they wonder why people are staying away.
