LSU Foundation diversity message

I just got a fundraising letter from the LSU Foundation promoting the LSU Office of Diversity. I understand reasonable efforts to diversity the LSU campus, but the Office of Diversity at LSU promotes discrimination in its actions under the guise of being in favor of "diversity." There is not a standard that the LSU Office of Diversity will set aside to promote its diversity message. Perhaps LSU alums should not contribute until the university provides more balance in how it manages diversity?

Diversity of thought is important
Diversity of race, gender, religion is not important.

I guess LSU Office of Special Treatment for Whiny People doesn't roll of the tongue as well.
Come on people, it has been 55 years since the Civil Rights Act passed. How much longer is that excuse going to hold up?

No where is it LSU policy to reject white applicants in favor of minorities.
The office of diversity essentially ensures there are organized activities and interests for students of color. It also assists LSU in recruiting/marketing efforts within minority regions/schools.
these efforts have paid off as they were one component of a multifaceted effort that lead to the largest and highest performing freshman class in LSU history
Times have changed for LSU. They need higher enrollment numbers to fund their operations. The enrollment numbers of in-state white students are basically topped off, growth could only come from increasing out of state students, and in-state minority students.

Times have changed for Louisiana. Look around. Big companies and high paying white-collar jobs are leaving or not coming. We have reached a tipping point with our demographics and I am not just talking about Race.

Brain drain is one of the most obvious problems in LA
And it's a positive feedback loop. (that doesn't mean that it has a positive connotation btw)

Completely agree and this isn't good for LSU. No telling what recruitment efforts we will be seeing in the future besides Diversity Departments.

Diversity is a euphemism for “anything but white males” and you’re a fool if you still don’t realize it

The new term for Asians is "White-Adjacent". They cannot explain why Asians are so successful so now they are saying Whites and White-Adjacents.

I can explain both sides:
One side is looking for excuses.
Those “white adjacent” people do well because of family and proper priorities.
Simple really

Oh, I see it and experience it everyday. perks of having a boss motivated to advance minority issues
But not all "diversity" efforts are anti-white male. Some are merely meant to provide a way for minority students to connect with their school and other minorities. The Office of Diversity was created to achieve those ends
Engagement is proven to increase Retention. Retention is proven to increase grad rates. Better Grad rates lead to higher rankings, larger and better grants, and hopefully better alumni endowments.
FYI, there are similar offices for: Veterans, Internationals, Women, LGBTQ, and Disability Services

Why is the Office of Diversity at LSU so heavily focused on race? More specifically, why are these types of departments so focused on, and overwhelmingly staffed by, African Americans? True diversity encompasses so much more than skin color. It also involves age, sex, socio-economic background, religion, and sexual orientation.
