What’s idiotic? There’s campus parking available and busses that run during the day. After 4 or 5, all lots are open besides residential. So either you go during the day and take a shuttle bus or go at night and park in employee lots.

Campus parking is BS. I’ll donate to LSU when they give me back the money I spent in tickets and a tow.

With TOPS covering some things, they had to make sure they had a revenue stream that didn’t come from state coffers other the the multitude of fees they impost as part of enrolling in classes.

Here is my shocked face.

He means they’re open to park in without a parking tag/a different tag

Right. But does no good if they are full when I go to work out. I’m also an alumni with a pretty busy schedule so his idea of running around and catching buses back-and-forth is pretty idiotic.

I spent 5 years on campus and never once got a ticket or a tow. Follow the rules. If you don’t have the correct tag, don’t park in the lot. It really is that simple.

Just use Uber to drop you off and pick you up

Seems like joining a university rec center when you’re not a student and expecting convenient parking is idiotic as well.

You joined a rec center for students on a college campus. You’re an alumni with knowledge of the parking on campus. And you’re bitching about it on TD????

So let’s see. Add a minimum of $10 per workout to my membership for Uber back and forth. Working out 4 times per week comes to $40 per week.
Adds over $2000 annually to my $700 yearly membership.
That doesn’t sound like a great idea.

As an alumni with a busy schedule maybe your time and money would be better spent at health club where you could easily park without a pass.

Parking is always crap until the week after labor day. Then EVERYONE will get ticketed and towed. Trust me, the new guy in charge is by the book... and kind of an a-hole

It’s a Rec Center for alumni too dummy. They sell alumni memberships and should have a better plan for parking for such members.
I was not aware of the parking situation at the center or that I would even need a parking pass if I joined.
You’re on the internet bitching about someone who is discussing an issue that needs improvement. Get a life.

I can assure you had I have known the parking would be such an issue that would have been the case. They didn’t even tell me I would need a parking pass when I joined. I joined before the fall semester began when I could pull right up to the rec center and pay for a membership.

As an alumni it's unpossible for you to not know parking would be a pain in the arse

Not really. As a student, I lived close to campus and biked to class. Never paid attention to the parking situation on campus.
