So the 13% dictate what is and isn't acceptable. It's only fair then that the 13% donate enough to make the university whole. The knee jerk reactions by companies and universities are astounding.

Liberals are removing any chance of repeating history, by removing all historical evidence that it ever occurred.
But if it's eventually never known that it occurred, how will it be known to not be repeated?

They should remove the racist library rules that make people of color be quiet and allow their voices to be heard and to talk on speakerphone
“Studying” is an oppressive tool of the white and yellow man to keep the black man down

My point is your behaviors are not excused simply because you were following orders. Distinguished military careers earn you the benefit of the doubt but it does not patently pardon you from supporting a policy that in hindsight has been deemed wrong
LTG. Middleton = Himler. Got it.

I don’t understand this sentiment. LSU is still LSU. LSU has always evolved over time. We certainly aren’t the military school we were in the early 20th century.
LSU deciding to rename a building shouldn’t kill your support of the school. Especially when it has been proven the man was a staunch supporter of segregation and openly (and clandestinely) worked to defy integration efforts...

The move to layoff the staff was because of the failure to raise the funds for a $1.5B capital campaign.
Seems like that whole campaign was poorly run. It was launched at the height of dissatisfaction with Alleva and Alexander.

That’s not what he said. He simply said himler followed orders dutifully and to his fullest effort.
Because someone is a good follower of orders doesn’t excuse orders that are wrong.
And I’m someone that doesn’t want the library name changed because of you look at his entire history he evolved into a champion for integration. His story should be shouted from the rooftops

I mean, I’m not gonna lie. Out of the stuff being removed this is one I’m mildly okay with. Dude was pretty blatantly racist.
Like a lot of people, he changed his tune later in life, but yeah it was pretty blatant while he was LSU's president.

That guy over there did something stupid and now I have to do it to, or I'm racist.
Unfortunately that is the way Higher Ed works...It’s a copycat league

Since they obviously don’t want the money of us evil white devils since at some point in the past someone might have said something deemed racist by modern standards
Talk about missing the point.
Have you, or the majority of white LSU donors, been in a position of grave power at LSU and demanded integration to not happen?
No?
Then shut the frick up.

It launched ~15 months ago and is still going on

But why does it piss you off? Why get so fired up about this? It’s an ugly building slated for demolition...why get angry that it will spend its last 2 years of existence with a different name?....
To me this was a low hanging fruit

Because it empowers these moonbats and it won't stop at "low hanging fruit."

LSU announced it publicly in March 2019
But the effort began in 2016...
LSU is subject to a policy that does not allow them to announce the campaign until at least half of the fund has been raised.
LSU had $750M in commitments In 2016 and struggled to bring that number up to $900M By March 2020
LSU then lost many of the commitments by business leaders who were impacted by COVID

It's the appearance that LSU is simply caving to the what's in vogue right now and didn't want to be labeled "racist" by the cancel-culture media.

Because if Chauvin never kneels on the neck of Floyd for 8:46 then this entire thing never happens. Nobody cares. This is a useless gesture designed to appease loud mouthed protestors who aren’t asking for anything actually substantive to address actual concerns of police brutality and militarization of police.
Parents know giving into tantrums thrown by children only incentivized them to throw them more often. That’s the same thing that’s happening now.
Renaming Middleton does nothing.
