That's really really sad. I'm from Shreveport and my parents still live there. I hate to even say this because I don't know how accurate it is, but I have heard from a few people that it was some sort of police chase.

yeah, it is a sad story, but there is probably something being left out.
This:
doesn't just happen.
This:

In a statement, police said the pair’s Chevrolet truck was headed eastbound on Robinson Place when it struck a large tree on the north side of the street and was quickly engulfed in flames.
doesn't just happen.

Good looking couple - that really sucks.

Nobody in particular. Just thought that there's where the bodies would have been taken first, and if you had heard any confirmed scuttlebut that you, er, um, Scruffy could pass along.

Ah, gotcha. Sorry, can't help there. Scruffy has no info in regards to this incident.
There was a police chase that ended in a crash that same night, so some people may have their stories crossed.

Just seeing this again. This is very sad. Two very nice kids.

Police chase or not, it was an unusual accident. A tragedy nonetheless.

Yeah, that tree would've been on the opposite side of the road to where they were traveling. Don't see how you could drive that fast down that street to cause a wreck like that. Prayers for the families.

Prayers sent from the Abel family.

this is a tragic incident in part because it is an accident involving 2 young adults who by all indications were decent people
but i dont understand why their being "greek" and "good christian" people is of any relevance to the tragedy
not the least of which, if it comes out that there was alcohol involved, it will cast a pretty big shadow of judgment over them and their families
such a terrible thing for a parent to have to go through

I said it's because they're attractive that makes it especially a bummer.
