The LSU Alumni Association is looking to hire a strategic thinking, business minded, experienced leader for the role of Chief Operating Officer at The LSU Alumni Association. The COO will oversee a dynamic team of professionals, directing and supervising the management team in the administration of their respective departments. The COO will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership that mirrors the mission and core values of the organization. The COO will also be responsible for leading the LSUAA team to achieve and surpass profitability and business goals and objectives. This position reports directly to the President and CEO.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field
• 10 years of nonprofit experience with 8 in a senior management role or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven leader and business operations executive with appropriate related experience
• This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Leadership, possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to company mission.
• Results Driven; decisive with a "big picture" perspective as well as versed in operations
• Business Acumen; ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
• Excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
• Financial Management.
• Strategic thinking; skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to make persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics
• Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. This position requires travel in and out of the state and in some circumstances internationally. While performing the duties of this position the employee may be exposed to outdoor elements including extreme heat and or cold temperatures.

...other physical demands might also include, but aren't limited to, the ability to bend forward at the waist, kneel without assistance, practice repetive motions with arms while holding an object...no gag reflex...
