Has anyone here applied for one and what was the outcome?

Hard to get from what I have heard

Become a cop, they are exempt from such laws

To go with your truck balls, lift kit, big tires, flatbill hat, and affliction T?
Gonna take that over to Twin Peaks and park it next to the door where the girls can see like every other ugly douchebag does? Maybe put a sticker or two on the back of some statement that you think describes you but actually points out you have a below average IQ and just reaffirms that you're a doucher?

You're wasting your time. Just pay the ticket if/when you get one. Strip and retint your front windows every year if you can't find a place to give you a sticker. You can order vehicle specific pre cut sheets in almost any tint available.
The law is fricking stupid anyway.
Edit. I should clarify I use to have a security exception. BRPD wrote me ticket anyway and my tint was only 20% on the front and factory on the rear glass.

I got it, had my doctor sign the form. Went and got finger prints
Fairly easy if you don't have a record

I own a vehicle with none of the above added to it.
I do not wear hats.
I am unsure what an affliciton T is.
I have never been to Twin Peaks.
I do have a small LSU sticker on the back left corner of my rear window.

Coos aren't exempt. They still need an exemption form, but if it's a POV its pretty easy to get.
This is from the cops I work with applying for it.

Or maybe he wants to be more comfortable in his vehicle while reducing the glare from the sun

I applied previously and was denied and then appealed. Ended up speaking with the Captain over that Division and house counsel for LSP. The Capt unabashedly admitted two things:
1. LSP/DPS really doesn't want to be involved in regulating this law and wishes it wasn't on the books as written.
2. He is making it his mission to deny every request regardless of how justified.
When he made statement 2 the lawyer and I just looked at each other and I said: "So you are openly stating that you are refusing to approve legitimate requests? In other words, you aren't doing your Legally mandated job?" It was quiet for a while and then they ended the meeting. I was later notified my appeal was denied.
FYI. I applied because I was carrying sensitive items in my vehicle for a government contract we were working on and I was worried about theft. The Capt wrote that dark windows make people break into cars because they "want to see what is inside." Stupidest fricking thing I have ever heard.
Also, on top of cops being exempt, every elected official is exempt. So the state lawmakers wrote and passed a bill that exempts themselves. Kind of like Congress and Obamacare.

You can really only get that if your spouse is in LE.

How did they write you with the exemption from the state?

Just get the tint. Tbh, they just changed the law and now probably 90% of vehicles on the road are unknowingly riding around with illegal tint that came with their brand new vehicles.
Back of my truck off of the lot is 15%. Back of my buddy's truck is 10% from the dealership. New law says 25% is the darkest allowable on the rear

Your reason is the same reason I am trying to get justified. Thanks for this info!
