Of course they are... It's like this website. Monroe, Walker and Eunice are for the most part intimidated and suspicious of New Orleans.

It’s comical when people on this board from Louisiana talk shite on other states

Really? I mean it’s a good city to visit compared to US cities, and we try and go a couple times per year. But, it very far down the list of best cities in the world to visit.

Why?
Elite world class architecture, food and entertainment options.

I was in midtown last year and surprised that it just seemed normal and bustling.

Basically 0 outdoor options, climate isn’t very good, expensive and dirty compared to European and Asian counterparts, doesn’t have the history or architecture of older cities. I do agree that the cuisine is probably the best combination of quality and variety of any I’ve had. It’s also well laid out and easily walkable. Just very little natural beauty and outdoor activities.
ETA poor public transition compared to other cities as well

Have you ever been to nyc?
There’s this really big park there. Very centrally located too.

Every big world city in Europe is just as dirty. Hell Paris is famous for being disappointingly ugly and dirty for tourists.
I can understand nyc not being #1 city to visit, but to say it’s “very far down the list of cities to visit” is crazy to me lol.

Yea, and if your idea of outdoor activities are going to a park then you’re just trying to argue for the sake of it. And Paris is very far down my list as well. If you think the Copenhagens, Dublins, Geneva’s of the world are as dirty as NYC, then I guess we went at different times.

I just want to visit Little Italy and go to the feast of San Gennaro. Eat some sausage and peppers and braciole

Well what do you consider outdoor activities?
Some of the best public golf courses in the world are an hour away from times square.
If I’m looking to hike, ski, etc then I’m not going to a “city” to do that anyway.

I've only been to NYC once for work, and i was limited to Brooklyn and Queens. However, the trash situation in that city was pretty shocking. The fact that everyone just throws their trash bags out on the curb, and there hasn't been a major plague in that city yet, is astounding.

Central Park is over 800 acres. There are parts of where you can be in the middle of the woods and not even see a building or see the city. As for activities. You can hop on a train and be on a beach out in the Hamptons in 2 and 1/2 hours. You can be from home in your apartment to surfing in Montauk from breakfast to lunch. Peekskill and Blue Mountain State Park and Catskills are 2 hours away by bus or car as well. Snow skiing or hiking once again from breakfast to lunch. If you're arguing against a city then so be it. But to say outdoor activities are non existent is foolish.

Hiking, skiing, water sports, nature trails, fishing.
Where in Copenhagen did you see as much trash as in NYC?

just got back from a couple of weeks over there, they had it cleaned up a pretty nicely for the Olympics, even seemed to be less homeless to step over than usual

I can be on south beach from Houston in the same time. Didn’t realize Houston was able to claim that.
