The only way to lose fat is to be in a calorie deficit.
Calories in have to be less than calories out. Its that simple.
Don't know why you're downvoted. People can do whatever methods they want to be at a calorie deficit, but believe me.. you can eat 1200 calories of french fries or bread and still drop weight if you want. I see before/after photos on a daily basis of people dropping tons of weight without giving up carbs.
Obviously, watching your macros is good for your overall health, but it isn't crucial.

Most "diets" don't work simply because people cannot maintain them. It's true for all diets not just low carb. All diets creating a calorie deficit will work if maintained.
Exactly. Choose what you're most likely to stick to, but you only lose weight if the method you choose also creates a calorie deficit.
Eating 5000 calories of low carb food isn't going to make you lose weight. The catch is that most people can't consume 5000 calories of protein/veg, so it ends up working.

If you aren't drinking every day, it won't make much difference. If you are only going to drink one day on the lake you will be fine.
I've been on a low carb diet for two months. I drink beer usually one day each weekend since I've been on the diet and I've lost weight.

If you can stay under 100 carbs a day and eat the correct macros for protein and fat you will be doing just fine.

If you're trying to stay in ketosis, 100 carbs a day wont work. I would say MAX 40-50 carbs a day once you're keto adapted. But starting out, less than 20 carbs a day.
You could probably drink 8 beers a the river twice a month and be fine.

It's amazing to me how many people on this board think low carb diets are some kind of magic and not just a way tool to help you eat at a calorie deficit.
I swear it's like a goddamn cult on here.

I switched to low carb, but knew ketosis would be too difficult to shoot for. I stick to around 125g/day and lost around 15 pounds in around 2 months. Wasn't that hard to do and it's not a fight to stick to like 25-50g/day would be.

Does your piss stink? If so then ketosis.
