We need a new paradigm where we approach it pragmatically, and stop brainwashing everyone with Disney fantasies.

I watched a movie about the author Charles Bukowski recently and apparently he hated Disney/Mickey Mouse with a fiery passion for this very reason- those fantasies don't reflect reality at all and have given us 3 or 4 generations of people who are totally clueless about the brutal nature of living on this planet.

Really neat to see the low life's come out to shite all over marriage

Nobody is shitting on marriage. I think most of us are for marriage, it's an awesome thing.

You know what else is awesome? Rollercoasters. But if you were trapped on a rollercoaster without anyway of ever getting off, it would get real shitty real fast.

I love these threads. Really neat to see the low life's come out to shite all over marriage.

Just because your parents and or you are dumb fricks who can't have normal relationshis doesn't mean others can't.

Ah, yes. The ole "it can't happen to me, my little lady is a special snowflake."

If my math is correct, our friend notiger should be just about eighteen years old. He should probably go ahead and buy a titanium cup for the relentless kicks in the balls life will be dealing him in the next couple decades.

I love idealistic naive young chicks but despise this age/stage in young men. I guess it's b/c the men remind me of myself 15 years ago and the women are just yummy prey.

I'm going to hell.

Same here. took about 18 months.

Skies clear and you go a few weeks or so before you realize it doesn't hurt to remember anymore.

That is what I am willing to commit to, but I haven't found any girl so far who would do the same. Marriage is taken extremely lightly this day in age. It is just considered the next level of a relationship, on par with going from casually dating to exclusive

You're still first, pussyface.

I'm happy for older couples who have made it to 30+ years.

And I'm not bitter at people my age with happy marriages, it's just assholes like you my age who are all smug and pompous like you have some fricking secret gene to making shite work that we lack as if we should be shipped to a death camp for failing at marriage. Call us nega-marriagers like the rant after a Tiger loss but you're still human and your wife may fall for some BBC one day.

Now that's the kind of name calling I'd expect from a man who's nearly forty. I accept the premise that you're 39.

Is there honestly a point to getting married? I feel like dating with separate bank account/ property is the only way to do it.

Sad that people feel like this.
