Some people, well most dudes on here are idiots and love the hivemind. They all start jerking each other off and LOVE when someone goes against their collective thinking because they get all hot and fat.

I have a big arse, scary looking pit. Cliche, he is a HUGE baby to me and my gf and our 5 year old daughter. I also keep him on a tight arse leash every time we go outside beccause 1. he is a true catch dog. If he sees something he wants he's gonna get it and probably ruin it. and 2. people are terrified of him. Which i understand, he's scary af looking, but he is sweet as shite to everyone.

So, that being said. All of these things can be true. My pit is fricking awesome. He and my lab/golden are best bros. He is sweet as shite to everyone. He also attacked a dog that came in our yard once. He thought he was protecting us. It was the other dogs fault.

I also would never let him do anything out of my sight, or off a leash that I have very strongly in my hand because of what he is capable of. For instance, if Darth or one of these other pussies in here wants to come in my yard and see what he's capable of , i'd gladly watch.

edit: and also, 99% of the facts you find about pits online are complete horseshite. Act like you have a brain.

I had a stray 2 month old Pit Bull/Black Mouth Cur mix dropped off close to my house that ended up at my back door.

Then she made her way into our hearts of course and has been with us for almost 3 years now. She is incredible. She looks a lot like both breeds at certain angles. She is a killer though.

But not humans. She loves humans but HATES other animals and has killed anything that comes into the yard, even dogs. She absolutely plays rough with me and yet I trust her more than any human.

This thread gave me pause because of the amount of people against this breed.

I'm glad you understand. My whole point is, it's more about the owner than the dog. Like you said, you take care of yours and are very responsible, even though it's probably a big baby, just like the 2 I have.

My 2 pits also get along with every other dog in my family. We can put them all outside without a worry.

And you're right, they can find sites that have a bias to fit their narrative. They have such a strong opinion on dogs they genuinely know nothing about except for what they read.

Very tragic. My 14 yr old Shiz Shu bit my 4 yr old grand daughter about 2 weeks ago, hard enough to make it bleed a little. My Daughter ( her Mom)tried getting on my dog and I told her to hold on there, because if my grand daughter wouldn't have kept messing with her while she was eating, then she would not have been bitten. All dogs will bite under certain situations.
